ABRAHAMS, NICOLAI CHRISTIAN LEVIN

ABRAHAMS, NICOLAI CHRISTIAN LEVIN (1798–1870), Danish author and literary scholar. After graduating from the University of Copenhagen, Abrahams taught there from 1829 and became professor of French literature after his baptism in 1832. Abrahams, who helped to popularize French culture in Denmark, published a Description des manuscrits français du Moyen-Age de la Bibliothèque Royale de Copenhague (1844). His autobiography, Meddelelser af mit liv (1876), appeared posthumously.
