Wilson, Jean (1910–1933)
Canadian speedskater. Born 1910 in Glasgow, Scotland; died 1933 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Came in 1st all-around, North American championship (1931), winning all four of her events—220, 440, 880, and three-quarter mile; came in 1st in the 500 meters and second in the 1,500 meters at Lake Placid Olympics (1932), though speedskating was considered a demonstration event at Olympics until 1960; died of a degenerative muscle disease the following year.
