Began singing with sister Mary, and twins Marge and Mary Ann Ganser, while in high school in Queens, NY, and together they formed the Shangri-Las (1964); released 1st hit, "Remember (Walkin' in the Sand)," followed by album Leader of the Pack (1964), which included #1 hit title track; other Shangri-Las albums include Shangri-Las '65 (1965) and I Can Never Go Home Anymore (1966); other hit songs include "Maybe" (1964), "Out in the Streets" (1965) and "Past, Present and Future" (1966).
