Canadian novelist and short-story writer. Born 1915 in Radom, Poland.
Came to Toronto at age 9; began writing at age 45; works include the novels Passing Ceremony (1973) and Basic Black with Pearls (1980), and (short stories) A View From the Roof (1989), which was a finalist for Governor General's Award.
