American stage, radio, and screen actress. Born Joan Margaret Tetzel, June 21, 1921, in New York, NY; died Oct 31, 1977, in Sussex, England; m. John E. Mosman (radio producer, div.); m. Oscar Homolka (actor, died 1978).
At 16, made Broadway debut in Dramatic School, followed by Liliom, Happy Days, The Damask Cheek, Peepshow, I Remember Mama, The Masterbuilder, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (as Nurse Ratchett), and How the Other Half Loves, among others; films include Duel in the Sun, The Paradine Case, File on Thelma Jordan and Joy in the Morning.
