Sutton, Eve (1906–)

New Zealand children's writer. Name variations: Evelyn Mary Sutton. Born 1906 in England; married; children: 3 sons.

Immigrated to New Zealand (1949); with Lynley Stuart Dodd, wrote My Cat Likes to Hide in Boxes (1973), which won the Esther Glen medal; also wrote Green Gold, Tuppenny Brown, Moa Hunter and Valley of Heavenly Gold, among others. Awarded New Zealand Children's Literature Association prize (1991).
