American novelist and poet. Name variations: Elizabeth Stoddard; Elizabeth Drew Barstow Stoddard. Born Elizabeth Drew Barstow, 1823, in Mattapoisset, MA; m. Richard Stoddard (poet); children: 3.
Wrote column for San Francisco Alta (1854–58) as "Lady Correspondent" and published short stories in Harper's; wrote novels The Morgesons (1862), Two Men (1865), and Temple House (1867) and book of children's stories, Dolly Dinks' Doings (1874).
