Scottish murderer. Name variations: Katharine Ogilvie. Born Catherine Nairn in Dusinan, Scotland, 1746; m. Thomas Ogilvie, Jan 31, 1765; children: (with Patrick Ogilvie) 1.
Began affair with Patrick Ogilvie, her husband's brother and heir; asked Patrick to mail her arsenic which she used to kill her husband; with Patrick, was tried for murder and found guilty; though Patrick was hanged (Nov 13, 1768), was spared until she could deliver his baby; with help of servant, made prison break, boarded a boat bound for Calais, and disappeared.
