Medici, Laudomia de (fl. 1530s)

Tuscan noblewoman . Name variations: Laudomia Salviati; Laudomia Strozzi. Flourished in the 1530s; daughter of Pier Francesco de Medici (d. 1525) and Maria Soderini de Medici ; sister of Lorenzino de Medici who assassinated Alessandro de Medici; married Alemanno Salviati (died); married Piero Strozzi.

The Republic of Florence was abolished in May 1532 and Alessandro de Medici was declared duke of Florence. Alessandro was hated by the Florentines. When he was assassinated on January 5, 1537, by her brother Lorenzino, Laudomia de Medici was innocent but implicated.
