Saint and abbess . Name variations: Madelberta. Flourished in the 7th century; daughter of St. Vincent Madelgaire and St. Wandru (d. 688); sister of Aldetrude, abbess of Maubeuge.

Madelberte, the daughter of St. Wandru and St. Vincent Madelgaire, succeeded her sister Aldetrude as abbess of Maubeuge. The convent had been founded by her aunt Saint Aldegund at the beginning of the 7th century. Madelberte's feast day is September 7.
