Litton, Marie (1847–1884)

English actress. Born Mary Lowe in Derbyshire, England, in 1847; died in London on April 1, 1884; married W. Robertson.

An English comedic actress respected for her portrayals of Lady Teazle and Lydia Languish, Marie Litton was also a theatrical manager, overseeing the Court Theater (1871–74), the Imperial Theater (1878), and the Theater Royal, Glasgow (1880). She first appeared as an actress at the Princess's Theater on March 23, 1868.
