American baseball player. Born Sophie Mary Kurys, May 14, 1925, in Flint, Michigan.
Played second base for 8 seasons for Racine Belles of the All-American Girls Baseball League (AAGBL); stole 201 bases in 203 attempts, a league record that was never broken (1946).
