American musher. Born Dec 20, 1953, in Frankfurt, Germany, while American soldier father was stationed there; attended school in Ethiopia, Okinawa, Virginia, then Anchorage; m. Mike Jonrowe, 1977.
Worked in predominately Eskimo community of Bethel, Alaska, while employed by Alaska Department of Fish and Game; entered 1st Iditarod (1980); became only musher to compete in both Alpirod and Iditarod for 3 years straight (1992, 1993, 1994); finishes include 2nd at Iditarod (1993 and 1998); wrote Iditarod Dreams (with Lew Freedman, 1995)
