Made prominent stage debut in Edinburgh (1874); made London debut in Red Tape (1875), followed by Jane Shore, The World, Mrs. Dane's Defence, The Duke of Killicrankie, The Bondman, Mrs. Bill, Mrs. Gorringe's Necklace, Are You a Mason? and Tilly of Bloomsbury, among others; made NY debut in The Whip (1912).
