Made 1st stage appearance in Vienna (1932); made London debut in This Side of Idolatry (1933); made Broadway debut in Panama Hattie (1941), followed by The Doughgirls and Light Up the Sky; films include The Lady is Willing, Lloyds of London, Little Lord Fauntleroy, In Old Chicago, Waterloo Bridge, Dream Girl and A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court; frequently appeared on tv.
