American screenwriter. Born Mar 1, 1893, in NY; died May 9, 1968, in New York, NY; dau. of Ricardo de Acosta; m. Abram Poole (painter), May 11, 1920 (div. 1935); no children.
Poet, playwright and scenarist, is best remembered for her liaisons with beautiful and famous women, among them Eleonora Duse, Isadora Duncan, Marie Doro, Alla Nazimova, Eva Le Gallienne, Ona Munson and Marlene Dietrich, as well as Greta Garbo, who was perhaps the great love of her life.
