Cypriot murderer. Born c. 1900 in Cyprus; hanged at Holloway Prison in England, Dec 13, 1954; children: at least 1 son, Stavros.
Acquitted at trial in Cyprus for murdering mother-in-law by ramming a burning torch down the woman's throat (1925); arrived in Hampstead where son Stavros was living with his wife Hella (Bleicher) Christofi and their 3 children (1953); after hitting Hella with an ash-plate, strangled her to death and attempted to burn the body in the kitchen (1954); tried at Old Bailey and found guilty.
