German poet and playwright. Name variations: Margarethe or Margaretha Beutler. Born 1876 in Pomerania, Germany; died 1949.
Worked as an editor in Munich; studied medicine and became a gynecologist; poetry, which focuses on woman's position in society, includes Gedichte (1902); also wrote the play Das Lied des Todes (1911) and translated plays by Molière.
