Made stage debut with York Rep as Joan in Lord Babs (1943); made London debut as Margaret Knox in Fanny's First Play (1944); subsequently appeared as Gwen in Trespass, Jean Fane in A Man Must Die, Lady Caroline Lamb in Caro William, and Margaret in The Holly and the Ivy, for which she won the Clarence Derwent award (1950); films include That Dangerous Age.
