Paul R. Ehrlich
Paul R. Ehrlich
1932-
American biologist who received the Crafoord Prize (awarded by the Swedish Academy of Sciences to support areas of science not covered by the Nobel Prize) for his work on the problems of population growth, resource exploitation, and the environment. Ehrlich received his Ph.D. in zoology from the University of Kansas. He joined the faculty of Stanford University in 1957 and specialized in entomology. His book, The Population Bomb (1968) brought overpopulation issues into the public arena.
