Semaeostomatida (Discomedusae; class Scyphozoa, subclass Scyphomedusae) An order of free medusae that are typically flat or saucer-like in shape. The angles of the square-shaped mouth are drawn out into long, frilly lobes. They are found in great numbers in coastal waters of all oceans, in all latitudes.
