Rhapis (partridge cane; family Palmae) A genus of delicate, forest-undergrowth fan palms which are common as pot plants. They are clump-forming. The leaflets are blunt. The palms are dioecious. The flowers have 3 free carpels, and 1–3 thinly fleshy fruits are produced per flower. There are 9 species, occurring in Japan and southern China.
