Rhabdophorina
Rhabdophorina (subclass Holotrichia, order Gymnostomatida) A suborder of ciliate protozoa in which the cytostome occurs at the front or to one side of the cell. The organisms prey on other protozoa which they ingest via the expansible cytostome. There are many genera, found in aquatic environments.
