Pieridae
Pieridae (white butterflies, jezebels, orange tips, brimstones, sulphur butterflies; subclass Pterygota, order Lepidoptera) Family of medium-sized butterflies with predominantly white or yellow wings, in which the white colour is derived from uric-acid-based waste products. Some species are migratory. Eggs are laid singly or in groups. The larvae are not spined, but have fine setae. The pupa is supported by a central silk girdle.
