Delesseriaceae
Delesseriaceae (order Ceramiales) A family of red seaweeds in which the thallus is delicate, membranaceous, and brilliant red. In some genera there is a distinctive pattern of ‘midribs’ and ‘veins’, which resemble those of higher plants but are distinct in structure and function. These seaweeds are found attached to rocks or to other seaweeds, typically near or below low-water mark, or in shady pools.
