Clavaria (family Clavariaceae) A genus of fungi in which the hymenium is borne on the surface of cylindrical or club-shaped fruit bodies. C. vermicularis forms clusters of white, pointed, cylindrical fruit bodies in grassy places. C. fumosa is similar, but yellowish-grey in colour. C. argillacea forms club-shaped, unbranched, whitish fruit bodies on mossy, peaty ground, and is common in summer and autumn.
