SHILL, LOUIS
SHILL, LOUIS (1930– ), South African businessman and politician. Born in Witbank, South Africa, he qualified as a chartered accountant through Witwatersrand and Stamford universities. One of the founders of Liberty Life in the late 1950s, he was founder and chief executive of Sage Fund in 1965, which introduced the concept of unit trusts in South Africa. He established Sage Group Limited in 1969. On 1 June 1993, he was appointed minister for national housing and public works, a post he held until May 1994.
