SERGHI (Marcoff), CELLA
SERGHI (Marcoff), CELLA (1907–1992), Romanian novelist. Serghi's works, which often ran to several editions, include Pǎnza de pǎianjen ("The Spider's Web," 1938), Cîntecul Uzinei ("Song of the Plant," 1951), and Fetele lui Barotǎ ("Barota's Daughter," 1958). Cartea Mironei (1965, 19672), which deals with the wars and horrors of the years 1935–1945, contains a fine psychological study of a concentration camp survivor tormented by memories of his lost family.
