SCHMERLING, LOUIS
SCHMERLING, LOUIS (1912–1991), U.S. organic chemist, born in Milwaukee. Schmerling spent his working career with Universal Oil Products Company and did research in the field of hydrocarbon chemistry. He took out over 200 patents relating to catalysts, petroleum conversion, petrochemicals, insecticides, and flameproofing intermediates.
