NAKAR, MEIR

NAKAR, MEIR (1926–1947), Jew executed by the British in Palestine. Nakar was born in Jerusalem and joined Betar at the early age of 13. In 1943 he joined the British army and served for four years in Egypt, Cyprus, and Greece. On his release from the army in 1946, he joined iẒl and five months later was captured during the break into the Acre prison together with Avshalom Ḥaviv and Yaacov Weiss, was sentenced to death and hanged with them.
