IDA OF TOGGENBURG, BL.

Died between 1138 and 1410. Nothing is known of her except that she has been honored since before 1410 at the church of Fischingen, near Lake Constance in Switzerland. A biography of St. Ida dating from the late 15th century is a fictitious account based on an old legend. She was probably a recluse (see anchorites) who lived near the Benedictine convent at Fischingen. Her cultus was confirmed in 1724.

Feast: Nov. 3.
