David ben Samuel/ha-Levi
David ben Samuel/ha-Levi, or Taz (1586–1667). Jewish halakhic authority. At the end of his life, persuaded by his sons, he seems to have given his support to Shabbetai Zevi. His most important work, Turei Zahav (The Rows of Gold), a commentary on the four parts of Joseph Caro's Shulḥān Arukh, has greatly influenced later halakhic decisions.
