University of Windsor (wĬn´zər), at Windsor, Ont., Canada; nondenominational; coeducational; founded 1857 as Assumption College. It achieved university status in 1953. It has faculties of arts, science, engineering, graduate studies, social sciences, education, business administration, law, and human kinetics. Research facilities include the Institute for International and Developmental Studies, the Fluid Dynamics Research Institute, and the Great Lakes Institute.
