Windsor Locks (wĬn´zər), town (1990 pop. 12,358), Hartford co., N Conn., on the Connecticut River; settled 1663, set off from Windsor and inc. 1854. Once a tobacco-farming center, it still produces specialty cigar tobacco. There are also aircraft, aerospace, paper, food-processing, and electronics industries. The town developed industrially after a canal, with locks, was built (1829) around the rapids there. Bradley International Airport is in Windsor Locks, as are a number of museums.
