serval (bush cat) Orange and black spotted, dog-like cat found in grassy areas of sub-Saharan Africa. It has a narrow head and long legs, neck and ears. Length: body 70–100cm (30–40in); tail 35–40cm (14–16in); weight: 6.8–11.3kg (15–25lb). Family Felidae; species Felis serval.
