Antonio Starrabba Rudinì, marchese di (äntô´nyō stäräb´bä märkā´zā dē rōōdēnē´), 1839–1908, Italian political leader. A Sicilian revolutionist, he was mayor of Palermo (1864), prefect of Naples (1868), minister of the interior (1869), and twice premier (1891–92, 1896–98) as the leader of the right. He renewed the Triple Alliance (1891) and attempted a rapprochement with France. He was obliged to resign in 1898 after having severely suppressed a series of bread riots.
