To provide educational assistance to students from outside Texas who will be attending a Texas public university under contract with the U.S. armed forces as a Reserve Officers Training Candidate (ROTC).
Title of Award: Texas ROTC Student Waiver Area, Field, or Subject: General studies/Field of study not specified; Military science and education Level of Education for which Award is Granted: Undergraduate Number Awarded: Varies each year. Funds Available: This program permits nonresident students to pay tuition and fees at the Texas resident rate. Duration: Up to 4 years, as long as the recipient enrolls in at least 12 credit hours per semester, including military science classes.
Eligibility Requirements: Eligible are students who are enrolled in or accepted for enrollment in the ROTC program at public colleges and universities in Texas and who are residents of other states. Applicants must have signed a contract that cannot be terminated and that obligates them to serve a period of active military duty.
