Knight, Charles
Charles Knight, 1874–1953, American artist, b. New York City. Knight painted and sculpted animal subjects. He is best known for his murals at the American Museum of Natural History, New York City. These depict scenes of prehistoric life based on information from fossil remains. His books include Before the Dawn of History (1935) and Prehistoric Man (1949).
