Bhadravati
Bhadravati (bədrä´vətē), city (1991 pop. 149,217), Karnataka state, S India, on the Bhadra River. The city is an industrial center, with iron and steel plants, paper mills, and manufacturers of tar products, coal, cement, bricks, and wood products. Because of rapid modernization, an adjoining New Town (1991 pop. 82,175) has been created.
