Multilateral Working Group on Regional Economic Development (MWGRED)
MULTILATERAL WORKING GROUP ON REGIONAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT (MWGRED)
One of five working groups formed according to the recommendations from the Middle East peace conference held in Madrid in 1991. Its purpose is to address issues of infrastructure, trade, finance, and tourism development in the region, including the West Bank and Gaza. Among its goals are the encouragement of the free movement of people, goods, services, capital, and information among the partners in the region and the promotion of the region's integration in global markets.
