Tridentine of or relating to the Council of Trent (1545–63), especially as the basis of Roman Catholic doctrine; the name comes from Tridentum, Latin name of the city of Trent in the Tyrol.
Tridentine mass the Latin Eucharistic liturgy used by the Roman Catholic Church from 1570 until the changes instituted by the Second Vatican Council (1962–5) came into effect.
