Mayfair a fashionable and opulent district in the West End of London which includes the site of a fair which was held annually from the 17th century to the end of the 18th century in Brook fields near Hyde Park Corner; the area takes its name from this. Mayfair boy is a dated term for a gentleman crook of the 1930s.
