Bambi ★★★★ 1942 (G)

A true Disney classic, detailing the often harsh education of a newborn deer and his friends in the forest. Proves that Disney animation was—and still is—the best to be found. Thumper still steals the show and the music is delightful, including “Let's Sing a Gay Little Spring Song,” “Love is a Song,” “Little April Shower,” “The Thumper Song,” and “Twitterpated.” Stands as one of the greatest children's films of all time; a genuine perennial from generation to generation. Based very loosely on the book by Felix Salten. 69m/C VHS, DVD. D: David Hand;W: Larry Morey; M: Frank Churchill, Edward Plumb; V: Bobby Stewart, Peter Behn, Stan Alexander, Cammie King, Donnie Dunagan, Hardie Albright, John Sutherland, Tim Davis, Sam Edwards, Sterling Holloway, Ann Gillis, Perce Pearce.
