Land League
Land League Irish association formed (1879) to campaign for land reform and tenants' rights in Ireland. It was organized by Michael Davitt and Charles Parnell. Its aims were mainly realized in the Irish Land Act (1881). See also Fenian movement; Home Rule, Irish
