Lippi, Filippino (1457–1504) Florentine painter, son of Fra Filippo Lippi. He studied with Botticelli. Lippi completed the frescos of Masaccio in Santa Maria del Carmine (1484). His work is shown to full effect in his fresco cycles in the Caraffa Chapel, Santa Maria sopra Minerva, Rome (1488–93) and the Strozzi Chapel, Santa Maria Novella, Florence. He also painted altarpieces, notably The Vision of St Bernard (c.1480).
