Baden-Powell, Robert Stephenson Smyth, Baron of Gilwell
Baden-Powell, Robert Stephenson Smyth, Baron of Gilwell (1857–1941) British soldier and founder of the Boy Scout movement. He held Mafeking against the Boers (1899–1900). His sister Agnes (1858–1945) founded the Girl Guides (1910). His wife, Lady Olave (1889–1977), also did much to promote these movements worldwide.
