American Turkish Society Arif Mardin Music Fellowships (Professional Development/Fellowship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance for promising musicians from Turkey and to give them the chance to study in the United States. Focus: Music. Qualif.: Applicants must be promising musicians from Turkey. Criteria: Consideration for the fellowship will be based on merit and potential to benefit from the program in current or future music career.

Ahmet Ertegun Memorial Scholarships (Graduate, Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial support for deserving students of Turkish descent pursuing undergraduate or graduate studies in music. Focus: Music. Qualif.: Applicants must be music students at Juilliard School in New York City. Criteria: Preference will be given to those who meet the criteria.

Remarks: One of the seminal figures in the history of popular music, Ahmet Ertegun was also a prominent philanthropist dedicated to enhancing relations and cultural understanding between the United States and his native country, Turkey.

TCA-BAACBH Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To foster friendship, understanding and cooperation between the United States and Turkey and to explore the historical and cultural links between Turkey and Bosnia Herzegovina. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be Bosnian-American students. Criteria: Selection is based on merit.

TCA Turkish American Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To engage and cultivate a new generation of young Turkish American leaders. Focus: Public Affairs; Political Science; International Affairs and Relations; Communications; Printing Trades; Public Relations. Qualif.: Applicants must meet the following criteria: be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (green card holder); have, and maintain through the course of the scholarship period, a cumulative minimum 3.3 GPA on a 4.0 scale; evidence of leadership commitment through participation in community service, particularly within the Turkish American community; and be a high school senior applying to an accredited college or university, or college student who plans to continue undergraduate study; or a college senior or graduate enrolled or about to enroll in graduate school. Graduate students who apply for the TCA must plan to pursue studies and a career in public affairs. Criteria: Candidates will be selected on the basis of academic achievement, interest in Turkish American issues as demonstrated by involvement in Turkish American community affairs, and individual leadership qualities conducive to pursuing a career in public affairs, media and public relations. Priority will be given to students who are admitted to top national universities or liberal arts schools.

Funds Avail.: No specific amount. To Apply: Applicants must submit three (3) collated, non-stapled, paperclipped copies of each of the following items: (1) Completed Application Form (2) Resume: Each copy should be submitted on one single-sided 8.5” x 11” sheet of paper. TCA-UMD Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To foster friendship, understanding and cooperation between the United States and Turkey and to explore the historical and cultural links between Turkey and Macedonia. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be full time Macedonian-American undergraduates. Criteria: Preference will be given to those who meet the criteria.
