Description:

Independent Roman Catholic (Jesuit), comprehensive, coed. Awards associate, bachelor's, and master's degrees. Founded 1830. Setting: 450-acre suburban campus. Endowment: $26.1 million. Educational spending 2003-04: $5733 per student. Total enrollment: 1,427. Faculty: 131 (69 full-time, 62 part-time). Student-undergrad faculty ratio is 13:1. 1,218 applied, 80% were admitted. 29% from top 10% of their high school class, 52% from top quarter, 80% from top half. 5 valedictorians. Full-time: 1,068 students, 61% women, 39% men. Part-time: 144 students, 72% women, 28% men. Room and board charges vary according to board plan and housing facility. Part-time tuition: $741 per semester hour. Part-time mandatory fees: $40 per semester hour.

Collegiate Environment:

Orientation program. Drama-theater group, choral group, student-run newspaper. Social organizations: 30 open to all; national fraternities, national sororities; 22% of eligible men and 25% of eligible women are members. Most popular organizations: Student Government Association, Multicultural Student Union, Circle K, Campus Programming Board, Habitat for Humanity.
