Leighton M. Ballew Directing Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide services and educational programs for those individuals and organizations engaged in theatre in the southeast. Focus: Theatre arts. Qualif.: Applicants must have completed their undergraduate work at an accredited institution within the SETC region; and be entering graduate school in any region for the time or be currently enrolled in a graduate directing program in a college or university in any region. Criteria: Selections will be based on the replies and recommendations as candidates for the award.

Funds Avail.: $3,300. To Apply: the following information should be provided by all applicants: Personal letter outlining plans and objectives for graduate work or internship; A complete resume, including work in stage management or play direction; Names, addresses, and telephone numbers of three references who have had agreed, at the request of the award committee, to write letters recommending the applicant; Complete undergraduate and graduate transcripts; Letter of acceptance by an accredited graduate program in directing. Polly Holliday Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide services and educational programs for those individuals and organizations engaged in theatre in the southeast. Focus: Theatre arts. Qualif.: Any high school senior in the southeastern Theatre Conference Region who is planning to attend a college or university with the intent of majoring in theatre arts. Criteria: Selection is based on the financial need, talent, and the potential for academic success in college.

Funds Avail.: $1,000. To Apply: Applicants must provide the following: An official transcript, along with verification of class rank and available SAT or ACT scores from the high school guidance counselor or principal; Three completed recommendation forms, with one being from the nominee's high school principal; The students completed nominee resume form. Robert Porterfield Graduate Scholarships (Graduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide services and educational programs for those individuals and organizations engaged in theatre in the southeast. Focus: Theatre arts. Qualif.: Applicant must have completed undergraduate work at an institution within the SETC region; and be attending or entering an accredited graduate school the fall term following the convention at which the award is announced. Criteria: Applicants may be selected as finalist on the basis of their materials.

Funds Avail.: $3,400. To Apply: Applicant must provide the following materials: Completed Application form; Personal letter outlining plans and objectives; a complete resume; Three reference letters speaking specifically to the applicant's potential as a graduate student; Complete, official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended. Marian A. Smith Scholarships (Graduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide services and educational programs for those individuals and organizations engaged in theatre in the southeast. Focus: Theatre arts. Qualif.: Applicants must have completed undergraduate work at an institution within the SETC region; and be entering graduate school for the first time. Criteria: Selection will be based on their replies and recommendations as the candidates for the award.

Funds Avail.: $2,300. To Apply: the following materials and information should be provided by all applicants via email or standard mail: Completed application form; Personal letter outlining plans and objectives; A complete resume; Ten slides or photographs of completed work or renderings; Names, addresses and phone numbers of three to five references; Complete college transcripts. Southeastern Theatre Conference Secondary School Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide services and educational programs for those individuals and organizations engaged in theatre in the southeast. Focus: Theatre arts. Qualif.: Any high school senior in the southeastern theatre conference region who is planning to attend a college or university in the SETC region with the intent of majoring in Theatre Arts. Criteria: Selection is based on the aptitude in theatrical practices and the potential for academic success in college.

Funds Avail.: $2,100. To Apply: Applicant must provide the following: An official transcript, along with verification of class rank and available SAT or ACT scores from the high-school guidance counselor or principal; Three completed recommendation forms, with one being from the nominee's high-school principal; The student's completed nominee resume form. William E. Wilson Scholarships (Graduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide services and educational programs for those individuals and organizations engaged in theatre in the southeast. Focus: Theatre arts. Qualif.: Applicants must be legal residents of a state in the SETC region, and must have at least one year of experience as a full-time teacher and director of theatre in regionally accredited secondary school in the SETC region. The award recipient must enroll in a regionally accredited graduate program within one year of being selected for the scholarship. Criteria: Selection will be based on their replies and recommendations as the candidates for the award.
