N.G. Kaul Memorial Scholarships (Postdoctorate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To help lead the way toward existing state and national clean water programs. Focus: Environmental science. Qualif.: Applicants must be students pursuing graduate or doctoral degrees in environmental/civil engineering or environmental science, concentrating on water quality; must show commitment to government service. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on demonstrated interest in or commitment to pursue government service, relevance of career objective to the environmental field related to water quality, academic potential, character and other activities.

Funds Avail.: $2,500. To Apply: Applicants must complete the application form; must provide letter verifying enrollment or acceptance in a college environmental program on college stationary; must attach transcripts, and two requested essays. Deadline: February 28.

New York Water Environment Association Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To help lead the way toward existing state and national clean water programs. Focus: Environmental science. Qualif.: Applicants must be students enrolled at a college or university where there is a NYWEA student chapter or high school students who will be enrolled in an environmentally related program in a four year college or university. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on academic performance.

Funds Avail.: $1,500. To Apply: Applicants must complete the application form; must submit a requested essay; official school transcript; and a minimum of two letters of recommendation, from which one must come from a teacher and the other from someone not related to the applicant. Deadline: January 22.
